Another pro to shopping on eBay is that it is relatively easy to do.  Once you have registered for a free account with eBay, you are able to start shopping on eBay. When shopping on eBay, you can easily find what you are looking for.  In fact, that is another pro of shopping on eBay; the ease of finding what you want.  With a simple eBay search or even an advanced search, you could find a number of products that fit the description as to what you are looking for.  By viewing those items, you can then decide if you want to purchase them or not.

Speaking of making purchases on eBay, you will also find that it is easy to do. As stated above, eBay allows internet users to post items for sale that they no longer need or want. While still following eBay’s rules, these sellers have a little bit of flexibility, such as how much money they want to charge for their products, as well as what methods of payment they accept.  Although some eBay sellers are limited on the methods of payment that they accept, you will find that most are fairly flexible.  For instance, common forms of accepted payments of eBay include PayPal, money orders, and personal checks; making it easy and safe to buy on eBay.

The problem is it takes time to optimize your website and for spiders to magically index your site in relation to the billions and billions and billions of other websites. Well maybe not that many. The question is how do you get people to your website for that brief three or four month selling season. Answer: you buy your way in.

Pay per click (PPC) search engines, also known as pay-for-performance, are engines which allow website owners to determine their sites ranking in that particular search engines results by bidding on keywords. I usually charge 0 a month -flat rate- on my website for advertising. I currently have a client that wants pay per click. I have no problem tracking the clicks- but I am not sure what a fair rate is- or if there is a customary range depending on your site’s street cred.

To define how much should you charge for every click you have to answer two questions first:

1. How much should you charge for 1 CPM (Cost per Thousand impressions)

2. What is the average click-through ratio of your website (number of clicks / number of impressions)

Usually the cost per CPM varies between $ 0.5 and $ 10. That has to do with how much targeted is the audience which is exposed to the advertising message. If your site has a specific visitors profile then you can select a price that is closer to $ 10 per CPM.

The average click-through ratio is about 5%, of course this varies a lot and depends on many factors like the effectiveness of the advertising message, the banner attractiveness etc. Supposing that the average click-through ratio of your website is 5% then the charge per click should be between $ 0.01 to $ 0.2. Again if the visitors of your site constitute a specific target group then the $ 0.2 per click is just fine.
