Yes they may provide customer service, but it will more than likely come in the form of limited customer service. You know, call Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. That’s great until your site goes down after hours or on the weekend. Even worse, there are some cheap web hosting services that only offer e-mail customer support. This leaves you to play the e-mail tag game and a simple problem that could be resolved in minutes on the phone could take you days via e-mail. This will certainly get you wondering exactly how much you are saving with the cheap service; after all if your website is down you are more than likely losing money.

• Advertisements: Sometimes you can find unbelievably low priced web hosting, even free, but there is a catch. To compensate for the savings they offer you, they will put up advertisements on your website. This may not sound like a big deal but if your website sells shoes and the cheap web hosting company decides to put up an ad for dog food, your site looses credibility. Again the savings may not be worth it in the long run.

• Unreliability: Cheap web hosting means that your website will be housed on cheap servers. In simple terms; your website will be down more often. If your site is down all the time you are losing money and remember, if you have a web hosting service that has that great e-mail based customer service then your aggravation will only be multiplied.

• Speed: Have you ever gone to a website out of curiosity and got frustrated with the amount of time that it was taking the site to load on your computer? What did you do? If you are like most people you clicked off the site faster than you clicked on. Well chances are that the website owner of the site you wanted to check out went with a cheap web hosting service that offered very slow data transfer rates. While that will indeed save you money, in a world where everyone wants it now, a slow loading website is certain online death.

You have to weigh the good with the bad but you should know that you can still get great service in a web hosting company and not pay an arm and a leg. True it may not be the cheapest there is but you will certainly not be pulling your hair out and cursing at your computer screen when you see that your site is down yet again.
