How to Have the Best Selling Website Ever

How to Have the Best Selling Website Ever

People are hungry for knowledge on a wide variety of subject matter so, regardless
of the economic situation, information sells.  Nowhere is this more evident than
on the Internet, where downloadable white papers and eBooks are being purchased at
an extraordinary rate.  Plus, every day there are new things, ideas and techniques
being developed that individuals, in turn, want to learn about, so the marketing
of information is almost certainly to continue being a moneymaker for Internet
businesses for a very long time.

Of course, not everyone is a great writer or has the time to do the exhaustive
research that would be needed to develop proprietary materials.  It is much more
reasonable and cost effective to market value-based eBooks (and software) that are
already available.  Although this business technique is obviously a great idea,
too many potential Internet business owners shy away from it because they think
that pulling together enough quality materials is difficult to do on one’s own.

Actually, setting up a successful information-based retail site can be extremely
easy thanks to the well-known, highly respected Internet marketer, Mike Filsaime.
He has a proven track record of building successful websites and his resale
rights-based “The-Best-Deal-Ever” is no exception.  In fact, it has turned out to
be his best selling website to date.  Interestingly, what makes this business
enterprise really special is not how well it sells.  It’s unique because Filsaime
calls it “a silly website” he developed quite quickly and put up as a fluke.

“The-Best-Deal-Ever” was a winner from the time it went up so people started
trying to clone it to no avail.  They even approached Filsaime directly asking for
his help in building something similar.  Given the interest in his site and the
compassion he felt for those who were struggling, Filsaime decided there was a
great business idea he should pursue.

“The best selling website” gives even the most novice of marketers everything they
need to easily create a hugely profitable website.  The software includes
informational product for resale, a sales page template that purportedly converts
at one of the highest percentages in the Internet marketing arena and step-by-step
help files.

Perhaps most important is that the system is set up so that your customers are
linked into a membership and customer support area managed by Filsaime.  This is
an incredible benefit for small online businesses which can actually be derailed
by high downloads and the associated extra bandwidth charges.

Filsaime even provides free hosting for those who don’t already have their own
website and a 100% money back guarantee.

Selling Domain Names On Ebay Part Ii

Selling Domain Names On Ebay Part Ii

Analyzing eBay completed listing of domain sales for last two weeks in -00 price range.
The main difficulty is to determine if the actual sales are real, especially at the high end of the range. In fact, the very first reported sale 9 for “Google Nexus One Premier Domain Pack” (the title itself scares me away, suggesting the bad names with trademark violation) is not valid, as this “super domain pack” gets relisted with 0 price tag.  However, the next  “official” sale, make you realize that  “Google Pack” is not that bad… How about biloud123456789.com selling for 9? You do not need to be an eBay or domainer expert to say: “ain’t real “, without wasting the time by checking out  whois history data.   There are many amusing sales in ebay “domain names” category.  Sometimes I think that if you’re starting as a domainer, you just need to check out eBay’s completed at the high range 0+, to learn what domain names should not be bought.

Back to Earth: let’s categorize what domains names are selling, or pretending to be sold on eBay

Celebrity names: see my previous blog entry on ebay’s domain name sales
Trademark names: a lot of iPad.com sales for last two weeks  on Apple news
3-4 letter names: many of not all sales records in this category can be trusted
One dictionary word names: for example RABID.net this week for 0, very rare on Ebay
Two-three dictionary word names:  BillPaymentCenter.com 4
IDN Names: names containing localized non-English characters ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internationalized_domain_name  for better explanation ), very rare
Really bad names, no one is going to look at, not only type in the address bar of a web browser.  You can take biloud123456789.com as an example.  Unfortunately, the volume of the names in this category is much higher than all other categories combined

A small comment for Trademark name lovers who are hoping to make a quick buck of well-known names: do you know what happened to forbes.ru and some Apple related domains about a month ago? No need to click on the link, just read the titles: http://www.themoscowtimes.com/business/article/forbes-gets-300000-from-cybersquatter/397561.html Forbes Gets 0,000 From Cybersquatter, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/07/AR2010010704421.html Apple Seizes 16 Domain Names From A Guy In One Fell Swoop

Do you think spending -0 on a domain name containing iPad\iPod is a good investment?  Use your own judgment, but I personally would stick to generic names.

In general terms, eBay market place for domains today is a bit twisted reflection of large specific domain name markets.  Yes, I believe, you can make a sale on eBay faster; more patience and additional investments (buying feature listings, appraisals, etc ) are needed when working on a sale with Sedo, AftreNic and GoDaddy auctions.  The common side effect of a quick sale is that the price which you get for your domain might be much lower than you expected.  If you’re ready to accept this, work with good names, do your research: keyword tools, domain history, past sales for similar names, existing in-links, Google ranking, etc. and you will do just fine with the domain sales on any market place.

Expired domains since my last posting, hope these are still available:
Establishedwebsite.com
macaroni.com
analystlabs.com
artworkdomain.com
temporaryarea.com
dealsexpert.com
sketchmaps.com
sportsecret.com
This is the one which makes me smile at first, though the name may not be as bad as it seems at the first sight: toiletdesigner.com

Selling Online With EBay ? Auction or BIN?

Selling Online With EBay ? Auction or BIN?

The bountiful world of eBay offers retailers a spectacular venue for selling products to a worldwide base of customers. Selling on eBay is great for both the novice entrepreneur and the established business that is simply looking to broaden its market niche. However, when setting up your online presence, you need to take stock of several factors, including what you will sell, the logistics of how you will deliver product and process payments (including currency conversion for international customers) and, most importantly, how you will sell. By this, I mean that you have two choices as a seller in eBay, you can put your merchandise up for reserve or non reserve auction, or you can sell direct through their Buy It Now option. Here are a few of the pros and cons with both options, to help you find which will better suit your business.

 RESERVE AUCTION

Placing your products into an auction set to meet a reserve price is a good idea if your product is a high dollar item, if it is something big or valuable, such as a classic car, a rare collectible, jewelry, or any valuable that you want to make sure to protect a certain level of value for. Say you have a rare baseball card that you want to sell at auction, to try to maximize your profit. What the reserve does is it allows you to set a minimum price that you must get for the product at the completion of the auction, and if you fail to get it, you are not bound to give the item to the person who bid the highest (but did not meet your reserve price). This is great for protecting value, but often makes it difficult to move your products, so it is best not to pick a reserve auction unless you are certain your product will generate a lot of interest, and will be seen as a must have for your potential buyers.

NON RESERVE AUCTION

The non reserve auction allows you to sell your product at auction to generate the highest bid, but without the protection of guaranteeing a minimum selling price. The benefits of this are that you will likely move the product or item fairly quickly, for non reserve auctions tend to attract more bidders, as potential buyers think that they have a chance to acquire a real bargain. This generates interest. The biggest down side is that you are stuck with whatever the highest bid ends up being, which could easily be significantly less than your ideal price, and maybe even less than what you require to return a profit. Non reserve auctions are good for items that, while possibly rare or high priced, for whatever reason do not generate significant interest on their own merits. Or, they are good for moving items that you have little capital invested in acquiring and storing, so you have little to lose, and you simply want to move the product quickly.

 BUY IT NOW

Buy it now is for items that you either have a large inventory of, and want to move immediately (without having to wait for the completion of auctions) or where the eBay market is so saturated that you are unlikely to generate a lot of bids from an auction.

Entrepreneurs Always Drive On Empty – Chapter 4

The Ultimate Business Bible – For many years I have looked down at my petrol gauge wondering how long it would be before I next had to refill. Not because I didn’t have the money to fill the tank but because I focused more on making my money work for me rather than stagnating in my tank.

Have you ever wondered why some small businesses seem to propel from nothing to something faster than others. Why some business owners seem to make things happen and get things done without stress? Ho

How to Determine What’s Really Selling on eBay

How to Determine What’s Really Selling on eBay

If you want to make the most money you can on eBay, then you need to know what sells. But how can you find that out?

The Manual Way.

If you’re just starting out, you might find it easier to simply go to your category, tick ‘Completed listings’ in the left-hand menu, and then click the ‘Show items’ button. Sort them by highest price first, and there you have it: the items that sell for the highest prices. In most categories this will change often, but it’s still useful to know – if you think you can get an item quickly for less than the kind of prices it is selling for, then go for it.

eBay’s search interface can be slow and hard to use, however, and you’re unlikely to discover everything you could learn this way. There’s more than one way to do things, though.

The Statistical Way.

If you’d prefer to do a little hardcore statistical analysis to determine what’s selling and what not, then don’t worry – you can do that too.

eBay make all their market data available to third-party developers through what’s called a ‘programming interface’ – this basically means that you have a wide choice of programs that can take market statistics from eBay and analyse them for you. Type ‘ebay analysis’ into a search engine for a long list.

In my opinion, some of the best eBay statistics tools out there are made by Andale (www.andale.com). Andale are one of the oldest and most established sellers of services for eBay. However, their solution is web-based, and you may prefer to buy a piece of software that you can install on your computer, such as AuctionIntelligence.

These automated programs will almost do everything for you, and come with help and tutorials. You should be aware, however, that eBay charge them for the data, which means that they will never give you their programs for free.

Keep Your Finger on Pulse.

If you want a quick, big-picture snapshot of what people are looking to buy on eBay, then go to http://pulse.ebay.com. This is a page where eBay list the top 10 most searched for words, and the top 5 largest eBay stores.

Looking at it, it’s easy to spot current trends. For example, right now all of the top stores are selling media items, either books or music. That suggests that these are good things to be selling, at least if you want to shift volume. Right now the word ‘ipod’ is at number 4, and ‘ipod mini’ is at number 6 – there are a heck of a lot of people out there looking for a cheap iPod or iPod mini. If you could find a good supplier for them then you could make a lot of money.

If you’re having trouble finding suppliers, though, don’t worry: there’s more than one way to get hold of things to sell on eBay. The next email will give you a few tips.
